Getting tired and fed up!!
Hi everyone, hope you are as well as you can be.
I am getting tired and fed up of feeling so ill, it is making me depressed too. how do you cope when you feel down? I am sure that my doc's are trying to wear me down so that I will treat myself before they have to diagnose me and therfore be a extra burden on the NHS in the UK. I'm off the see the dietician again today ( third time and still no further forward) hopefully she will be able to help, I need something done soon
Sorry for the rant, it does help to get things off ya chest, thanks for listening.

Hi Ian,
Your condition is surely due to your on-going gluten challenge. I wish I knew of a way to relieve the symptoms without interfering with the challenge, but unfortunately I'm not aware of any way to avoid feeling miserable while doing a gluten challenge.
As I've stated before, IMO gluten challenges required by doctors as a condition for diagnosis should be declared illegal as a cruel and unusual form of punishment. It's an outdated and sadistic practice reminiscent of the days when the most popular form of medical treatment for virtually all ills was blood-letting. I wouldn't last a minute as a doctor if I were required to follow those regulations for abusing patients.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Tex,
You're so right, I think the doc's here are way behind the rest of the world.
I went to see the dietician and she has put me on a weight gain diet as I am now 11st 12lb, I should be 12st, she does not want me to lose any more as I will be putting my health at risk if I pick up any bugs etc. But as Tex has said in another post I am not absorbing nutrients properly will this diet help? to be honest I don't think it will. Role on the 1st oF July, I get my endoscopy done then, hopefully they see asomething when thats done.

I'm not sure that England has the market cornered on GI specialists who leave a lot to be desired. We have the same problem over here. I have a hunch that if someone were to line up a bunch of British GI docs mixed with an equal number of U.S. GI docs, the only way to tell the difference would be by their accents.Ian wrote:You're so right, I think the doc's here are way behind the rest of the world.
At least the 1st of July is only 10 days away.

never give into giving up---we have all faced that point but getting past it is one step ahead of reaching your goal--as many times as u feel low look at yourself in the mirror--smile--and see that smile brighten you up into a brighter smile
smile and we all smile with u
