Chicken Eggs versus Duck Eggs

Post by MBombardier »

Apparently, I am growing more and more sensitive to eggs because I cannot eat them even in paleo baked products now. Though that may be a function of my on-going flare. Anyway... Someone told me that she cannot eat chicken eggs but she can eat duck eggs, and has her own ducks for that reason. So I have duck eggs in the fridge, but I am scared to eat them. Has anyone else who cannot eat chicken eggs had success with duck eggs? I need another protein source, and I am hoping that duck eggs can return eggs to my diet.

Side note: My family is so funny. They won't eat the eggs because they are duck eggs. They won't eat lamb because, well, it's lamb.

I seem to recall that JoAnne was able to eat duck eggs, but not chicken eggs for a time. I think she's able to eat chicken eggs now, though. You might want to do a search for a post about duck eggs written by her.

I've seen quail eggs in Brazilian restaurants, but I've been afraid to try them.

Thanks, Gloria. The woman I mentioned can also eat quail eggs. But that I wouldn't do. Quail chicks (and quail) are just too cute. :)

Sounds like the acorns didn't fall very far from the tree.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
