Snow flakes are beginning to fall

Post by Wendy »

Supposed to get a snowstorm over the next day or so. Starting tonight, so I was glad when my girls, Beth and Mel and Nova headed off before the snow came down. The roads are supposed to be clear all the way to my parents house, which is where they are sleeping tonight. My mom, even with having to use a walker, made home made stew for them, they eat it till it is gone. Both of them love it so much. They have their cell phone on for me to reach them, as I warned them to go slow, as it was a little over two years ago that they totaled their jeep going up on Christmas eve. Now I worry when they head up there. They cannot get to Beth's parents for Christmas as Beth works, and only has two days off, so they will celebrate it this weekend with them. They have left Navarro with me, Mel corrected me about the way I spell his name, anyway, I have the cat. Which as you know, I just love having. More hugs at night.

I am also glad that I got all my doctor appointments out of the way before the snow comes down. Nothing worse then having to go out in the city of Toronto when it is snowing out and no one knows how to drive! No one slows down, and there is always all kinds of fender benders.

I seem my family doctor on Monday, for my flu shot, and to check me out, and had to bring the blood work that my dermatologyst wanted done, and she added to it. So they took 5 big ones and 3 little ones out of me, and to top it off I had to fast from the night before. SOOOOO when I met up with Amanda later on, we went out for supper at a place in the Eaton Center, called Green Jeans. Amanda cannot hide the fact that she is pregnant any longer, she has a nice round tummy on her. Big enough to rub! Tuesday I had to get a tooth refilled, and today I went out to get my epidural shot for my back. DONE, thank goodness.

I am so tired, and does everyone always hurt where they get the flu shot, didnt' think it was this sore last year???

Anyway, out for the night now. Pebbles is calling, or something like that, wants to go outside. So gotta go.

Hugs everyone

Oh and I bought the baby its first sweater set today, they were selling home made sets at the hospital, couldn't just walk by.

Hi Wendy,

It's snowing here (Ohio) too. Started this morning and hasn't stopped. The roads are slick but it's so pretty out. I'm so glad I got my shopping done yesterday, only had the funeral and a hair cut today. The weather is staying around 30 degrees and was freezing at the cemetary.

Isn't a new baby so exciting! Trisha and Craig are planning on have a few after they get married! I can't wait = I love cuddling with a baby.

Have a good Thanksgiving!

Love,
Mars

Hi Wendy and Mars.

It's a winter wonderland here too! Started snowing about 7pm last night and hasn't stopped yet. We have about 15" here, but a friend that lives a couple miles from me way up a mountain said they must have 3 feet. It's so pretty but such a chore to plow and shovel.

Wendy, I got a flu shot this year against my better judgement and I had a lousey reaction to it too. Also, had a 48 hour flu bug last week. Go figure?

Take Care
Love,
Joanna

SNOW???? What do you peoples live in Canada, er what? Do ya'all live in igloos???

Hahahahahaha

Thankfully most of the snow we get here in Vancouver is in the mountains - where it should be! We only pray for snow on Christmas Eve, then come Boxing Day we wish it away

We are getting a nice snowfall today too. It looks a bit like Christmas out there...whhich is nice, because traditiionally, tree lightings in towns around here happen the day after Thanksgiving.

Geoff and I don't have to go anywhere today...just camping out at our house. The turkey is in the oven, the pies are made. Now just have to wait for those last minute (hour) preparations to go with it all.

Tigger has looked out the door twice and decided going out would not be a good idea. I think he is a bit miffed at being in. Will have to give him a bit of turkey later as a treat.

Stay warm and safe all you snowbunnies.

One of these days I would like to have a white xmas. Only seen snow a couple of times, in New Zealand & then only from a distance & once at Mt. Kosiosko. It would be so different from what we have here. Usually very hot. You know when I was a child everyone would follow the English tradition & sit down to a huge baked dinner & hot pudding. Now a lot of people choose cold luncheon with seafood the starring feature & cold ham, turkey & salads. Beautiful fruit platters. And the odd cold ale or whatever.Image

Many go to the beach where it is cooler. Much more sensible in this climate.

OK you guys...you know what I'm going to say...I am soooo jealous! I want snow too! The snow level is lowering to 700 feet, but I'm at sea level...grrrr.....some of the foot hills will see snow/rain mix this weekend! It is really dumping snow in our mountains this weekend.....doesn't make it easy for the holiday drivers taversing WA State.

My Thanksgiving went well....lots of food and fun with my niece and my neighbors. Had a cozy fire and played Clue after dinner...very fun. The pumpkin pie was interesting...my niece forgot to put in the sugar....I called it a vegetable side dish...haha...she felt very bad, but we were pretty full and didn't care too much! Had a good laugh over it!

I think the antibiotic I'm taking is causing C! I was afraid of D, but that doesn't seem to be the problem....any ideas Polly?

Well...need to work on report cards.....TTFN>>>JJ
