MRT questions

Post by UkuleleLady »

Hi there,

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get MRT done when I am ready to do that. I also need to budget for it!

Is this something I send away to a lab after purchasing a a test kit online, or is this something I need to do through a LEAP dietitian?

Is there a financial advantage to performing it one way or another?

Does anyone have a recommendation for sources?

Thank you good people and have a lovely day.
Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Like doctors and other licensed professionals, dietitians are licensed by their state of residence, to practice within the state. Since you live in Texas, IMO the best way to go about it would be to contact Mary Beth (mbeezie) for details. She is certified to administer the program, and to my knowledge, she is the only licensed dietitian in the world who is certified for the LEAP program, and who truly understands the dietary constraints that have to be followed by anyone who has MC. A lack of knowledge about MC makes dealing with other dietitians a very iffy proposition for most of us, and can even defeat the purpose of the program. She logged on earlier today, before you posted, or she probably would have responded to your post. If you want to send her a PM or an email, you can get her contact information from the index page, by clicking on her name in the list of "Users online today:", to open her profile.

Yep, it's a beautiful July day here in Central Texas.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Tex!

I went down to San Marcos for a little dip in the springs, a beautiful day.

Thank you very much for the info!!! I appreciate your reply and info on how to contact.

Sincerely,
Nancy
