Added two fruits to my diet!

Post by Gloria »

Summer brings rhubarb and sour cherries to my yard and I decided to try both this year. I've tried rhubarb before with mixed success, but I haven't eaten cherries since receiving my MRT test scores 3 1/2 years ago. Cherries were a yellow food, or moderately reactive.

I've eaten the cherries in a cherry crisp dessert for four days in a row (I'm gaining weight, too, LOL). I haven't had any reaction, so I'm hopeful I can handle them. Of course, I'm still on 1 Entocort a day and 1/2 Imodium, but that seems to be a permanent regimen for me.

For those who have problems with fructose like I do, mango, rhubarb and sour cherries are all low in fructose and histamines. I think that's why I can tolerate them.

DH helped me pick the cherries and pit them. I made some jam and canned some cherries. There are a lot more cherries on the top of the tree, but the birds like the ones we can reach. :???: Next I think I'll make some rhubarb-mango jam and dehydrate the rest. I made a rhubarb-mango crisp which was good, too. I used almond flour and corn flour with a little sugar for the topping. These were my first desserts in 3 1/2 years! I'm pretty happy.

So happy for you Gloria!! Cherries are MRT red and forbidden for me. I'm stuck on one budesinide every other day and probably will be for a very long time.
