Living Without magazine article on Celiac Disease

Post by wonderwoman »

I found this article in the Living Without magazine very interesting regarding the increase in the number of cases of Celiac in the US since 1993 and also the development of new tests and a new drug. Thought others would be also interested in reading it.

It's great that they're looking to develop a drug. But I feel like it only masks the symptoms rather than treat the problem- our food!

:iagree:

Those researchers are mercenaries, hoping to get rich from the development of a drug that will have limited success at actually preventing inflammation, but it will surely sell like hotcakes anyway, because most people are gullible enough to believe that a pill can "cure" anything that ails them.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi, Many people are looking for the magic pill. They do not want to change thier diet because it will be too inconveinent. Jon
