Jean...they were very kind, and I really appreciated that!

Tex....I agree...I think I started taking the enzymes when searching for relief from all the digestion issues I've had for many years. I don't really know if I have to have them or not.
And, I totally agree with your statement regarding how our body may slow it's production capacity due to the enzyme. I took Colon Care for years, so I could go quickly in the morning (being a teacher, I needed to be regular), and I was up to 4 per/day of the psyllium supplement for that reason. I took it for years, and had to keep increasing the dosage.

It's ironic that now that MC has appeared I have the opposite issue!

I think I'll just take my multivitamins and see how it goes.

P.S.....I have never felt better now that I'm eating meat 3 meals a day...yes, It's unconventional, but it works..you guys were right again!

Linda,

It's great to see that you're feeling better.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Linda, I try to eat 80 grams of protein daily. Trying to eat that amount is difficult so I take protein shakes. I now use a meal replacement that has 34 grams and a beef protein that has 26 grams. Plus eat three meals a day. I have two big meals a day. They consist of a high quality carb, alot of vegetables and a protein. It is usually a large bowl with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Then, I take the enyzme and my other trace minerals. I do not take the enzyme with a sandwich only. I have and had the same reaction as you. Jon

Histame is a type of enzyme that I am taking only once a say now. I occasionally take a digestive enzyme if I eat too large a meal or if the meal is heavy in raw veggies... to help break it down.

Glad you got a refund though

Over the past six years I have taken more supplements than I can count, including a variety of digestive enzymes. Every time I have taken them I eventually could not tell if I felt better taking them or not so I stopped. It's a lot of money to spend if it doesn't produce an ah-ha realization that something was missing.

It's worth a try if you suspect a problem but is also a risk if there are mystery ingredients.

Leah..so Histame is an enzyme that helps you with the digestion or gets rid of histamines that build up? I guess I don't understand it's function, if its a enzyme. I was taking the digestive enzymes to help me digest proteins, carbs, & fats. I take an antihistamine daily. But, have not taken a DAO due to the fact that its made from pig, and I don't eat pork....it was an issue on my Enterolab test (2+).

And, yes, there are a lot of mystery ingredients in the digestive enzymes! I've been researching, and there are many ingredients i am trying to avoid ....turmeric, papaya, rice starch, to name a few!

Yes, DAO helps to break down the histamines and rid your body of them ( where as antihistamines BLOCK histamines).
