Thank you ladies!

Hi Jody! Yes, last summer was the worst summer I've ever had. The D wasn't going away even with diet changes. Got on Pepto protocol last September thru December and have been in remission since. I love that bright pink pill...lol! At that time I gave up all the irritant foods as well. The combination of the Pepto and diet changes worked wonders for me. So please hang in there....it does get better. I also stay away from stress when at all possible and that has helped too. Less stress and getting rid of all your food intolerances equals a healthier gut. I still can't believe what a difference a year makes. I pray that next summer you will feel as great as I do!

Love,
Terri

Thanks for the kind words Terri,

Aw yes.....stress. I think I may be healing a bit quicker if it were not for the stress. Unfortunately, I can't get away from this. My mom is dying slowly of cancer and it's so stressful seeing her suffer so. And, the day before yesterday she fell and broke her wrist. The poor thing only weighs 75 lbs now and still tries to do everything for herself. She wants to take care of me! Once a mom always a mom. And, my 62 year old brother suddenly became very ill-malnutritioned, dehydrated and significant memory loss. He's been in the hospital for the past few weeks and just came home yesterday. He's doing better but still has memory loss and can't be left alone.

But, I've stayed on the diet that I've figured out for myself with a few slip ups here and there and that has definitely helped with the bowel situation. So, the worst thing bothering me right now is the extreme fatigue but I'm sure that is related to the family issues and I had my first reduction of Entecort a week ago.

I haven't even been here to read much as I've just been so overwhelmed. But, I have to return to work in 3 weeks so I've got to get some energy back to survive lol. I was looking for some inspiration/information here.

Jody,

I am so sorry to hear this! I haven't been on here much and have missed out on a lot of newbies' first posts. I'm glad you are taking the Entocort...will help you get through the upcoming months. I only know a little of what you are going through. My mom took care of my grandmother for about a year...she was struggling with kidney issues and we discovered after the fact that she probably had cancer. She had suffered a lot there at the end. Don't know how my Mom dealt with it all as she has a muscle condition in her neck called torticollis (something like that) and the stress from taking care of her mom made it worse. My parents are in their 70s....so am preparing myself for a big flare once something happens to one of them. I'm one of those who can't handle stress of any kind. I'm lucky I don't have to work. Makes me feel weak that I am this way.

Glad you are sticking with the diet pretty much. Please take good care of yourself....I know it's hard during stressful situations. As for the fatigue, that seems like one of the symptoms that tends to linger forever. Even though I'm a lot better, I still get fatigued. Never understood why as I absorb my vitamins very well and have no deficiencies.

Hope things get better for you. Hang in there!

Terri
