Very interesting Joan,
I'm now working on my 3rd autoimmune diagnosis.
Love,
Linda
I'm now working on my 3rd autoimmune diagnosis.
Just wondering when it will end. It seems like when one problem is addressed, another one shows up! A never ending and sometimes vicious cycle. I'm printing this one out for my permanent records. In fact, not only do we now have the strong association between S. cerevisiae auto-antibodies and mannan-containing proteins, we also have a history of increasing rates of autoimmune disorders that, at a casual look, can be seen to correlate with the expanding vaccination schedules in countries around the world.
Love,
Linda
While that proponents of that argument may indeed be onto something, there are numerous issues with the scientific integrity of that article. According to the article:
And remember that glycoproteins include lectins, which are notorious for their toxic effects as natural pesticides (the gliadins in gluten are lectins, for example). And to further complicate the issue, remember that D-mannose is very effective at preventing and resolving UTIs, for example. My point is that just because a substance happens to be present, doesn't constitute automatic grounds for indictment.
Thanks for the link, Joan. I had never heard of that theory before. It will be interesting to see if anything substantial ever comes from it.

That's not exactly true, yet it is presented as if it were a fact. Mannan is one of the major groups of hemicellulose (comprised of heterogeneous polymers) found in the cell wall of higher plants. Mannan consists of linear or branched polymers derived from certain sugars such as D-mannose D-galactose, and D-glucose. More correctly stated, mannan is serologically similar to structures found on mammalian glycoproteins, but that's not the same as saying that mannan is found in mammalian glycoproteins (because the polymer chains are different). The specific part of S. cerevisiae that’s of concern is mannan, which is found in the cell walls of yeasts and also in mammalian glycoproteins.

The problem with that sweeping assumption is that there are Zillions of similar trends that also seem to correlate with the increase of autoimmune disorders. IMO, it someone wants to make such claims implicating yeast in vaccinations, as they say, "more research is needed".we also have a history of increasing rates of autoimmune disorders that, at a casual look, can be seen to correlate with the expanding vaccination schedules in countries around the world

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
This is fascinating, despite the propaganda and leaps made in the article. I am probably the poster child for this theory, because:
-I had the Hep B vaccine in my early 20s, before IBS and everything else.
-I am Rheumatoid Factor+
-I tested sensitive to yeast on Enterolab tests
I found the abstract of the recent study valuable in assessing the true validity of their claims. I think there is something there. Notice the vaccines containing yeast are some of the most seemingly dangerous, as far as adverse events - Hep B, Gardasil, Meningoccocal.
It's also evident that nurses and healthcare workers have higher rates of autoimmune diseases, and I think work-required vaccines like Hep B and flu are partly to blame.
