Getting back on Budesonide

Post by Jskaggs »

Hi all. I was on Budesonide for three months had some side effects so My doctor changed my meds to Pentasa. I was on it for a week. Boy, did the D come back. So I took it upon myself on Sunday, side effects or not, and went back on Budesonide 9 mg. Now I have C and I have been trying to do the EnteroLab test-- but nothing has happened. I am so frustrated. I look like I am 15 months pregnant too and for a 62 year old , that's not pretty. I don't know what to do to get things moving so I can do the test. Any ideas? Is it too early to drop the dosage down to 6 mgs?

Thank you for your help.

It's not too earl to drop down to 6 mg. Listen to your body. C is the first symptom of taking too much budesonide.
Too get things moving? Well for me, all I would have to do is eat some watermelon! Think of a food ( except for gluten) that usually makes you go and eat some of it :)

Good luck!

Hi Jane,

You definitely need to lower the dosage if you have C. That's how many members here know when to lower their dosage. If C develops, they know that it's time to reduce the dosage rate.
