I have been off Gluten for 7 months and have recently removed rice from my diet. When I eat I feel great, and then about an hour or two hours later I start to feel bloated (some times I get a lot of stomach pain and even a slight fever at times. I don’t get D as for whatever reason that has never really been one of my stomach . The bloating last for 4 to 5 hours, I usually have to sleep on the couch where I can sleep up right. This bloating has gotten worse over the past 60 days. I had a hyda scan done last year my Gallbladder was slightly slow at 30% (35 to 70 is normal). Endolabs only should I had Gluten and minor rice issue everything else was fine. This may be something else I am eating, a Gallbladder issue or some other issue that no one can figure out. Anyone have any possible Gallbladder issues or even removed.

Are you eating raw fruits and veggies? sugar? Lactose from milk products? ( the test only tests for caesin)... any or all of these could cause bloating and gas,

Thanks for responding Leah

I did switch to Almond Milk just to be safe, I actually like it better than regular milk. Sugar, wow that is a tough one, now I would like to say I cut it out, but I have not. Not to complain but it seems I have given up so much already. The only fruit I eat is Bananas and grapes. It may seem strange, but when I feel bloating or indigestion Grapes actually help me digest food. For the past four days, I have had a slight stomach ache that for the most part will not go away, not to mention the bloating. My quality of life is not good. To add to the mess I went to see a second opinion with a new doctor, and my first dr found out and does not want to treat me anymore. I just restarted pepto pills to see if that will help with the inflammation.

Entrolabs showed Gluten and rice, but obviously I am having issues with something else. Sugar or sugar substitutes could be it. I was diagnose with MC, but I don't have d or c just stomach issues. Is there anyone else that has just this symptoms.

yeah, when we have intestinal inflammation, we don't produce enough enzymes to break down the sugars. They are suppose to be broken down and absorbed through the small intestine. If that doesn't happen, it goes into the large intestine where the bacteria feed on it and ferments.... giving us gas and bloat. I know that sugar is a tough one, but try to look at it this way. It's probably temporary. Once you get the inflammation down, then you can probably add some back in. With me, I can eat some, just not large amounts.
Hope you figure this out soon

PS Bananas always gave me pain. Whatever you choose to try to eliminate, only do one thing at a time, so you know what works.

Doug,

I agree with Leah. I couldn't handle any significant amount of sugar either, back when I was still recovering, and anything more than half a banana caused problems. I still can't handle grapes (they give me D every time), but bananas are OK now, and I can handle normal amounts of sugar, as long as I don't try to overdo it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
