I just got my EnteroLab test kit and instructions. I have opted to also do the fat malabsorption stool test and in the instructions it states: If you are currently using any oil supplements, please refrain from taking more than 1000 milligrams of all combined oil supplements (per day) for 7 days prior to specimen collection."
I know this spoke of supplements, but do Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut oil fall into "oils" I should avoid? I have no idea what the milligrams would be for those anyway....so I suspect they don't count (see stupid question).
It looks like I need to wait 7 days before I can collect due to the fish oil because I can't remember which day I stopped it on....shoot!

I called Enterolab and they said if you are using any type oil to supplement with that you would need to stop and wait 7 days. They said if it's not part of your normal diet (such as cooking) then it is considered supplementing. They said more and more people are supplementing with all types of oils.
In my case, the NP had me supplementing with 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil and 1 Tbsp. coconut oil every day for inflammation. So forget about me being worried about my fish oil....I will now wait 7 days before doing the testing.
PS: That is refrain from taking more than 1000 milligrams of all combined oil supplements (per day) as per Enterolab instructions.
