Anyone vomit as a reaction to food?
I don't remember anything other than nausea for PP.
The FPIES kids do vomit.

I vomited numerous times during the year or two when my symptoms were at their worst, but usually it was a delayed response, so I wouldn't relate those instances to FPIES. The only times that I can recall where I vomited in the proper time frame to match FPIES (approximately 2 hours after ingesting the food), was whenever I drank orange juice (after 2 or 3 episodes I learned not to do that), and one time when I tried a digestive enzyme supplement. It only took one episode with the digestive enzyme to reprogram my thinking, because I vomited 4 or 5 times after that one, and I was sick for several days. With both the orange juice and the enzyme supplement, it was always projectile vomiting, as mentioned in the article.
I have no idea whether either of those qualify as an FPIE reaction or not, but I believe that a number of members here have reported similar reactions, over the years.

Well,
Last time I had dairy, I vomited. It's a bit of an interesting story (but only a bit). I used to have dairy, no problem. A year of insanely high stress apparently did me in, because I started vomiting after consuming fluid milk. But it was a delayed reaction -- I vomited 24 hours later. It's very hard to tie things together that are that far apart--it took me two months. Then, slowly, over the course of about 5 months, the reaction got stronger. It took less and less dairy, and expanded from just fluid milk to any form of dairy, and my reaction time decreased to two hours. At that point, I gave up all dairy, and haven't had any since.
One theory from one of the doctors I saw is that it was a reaction to an ulcer. I had (hopefully it's past-tense now) a gastric ulcer with no apparent cause last year. I could agree with the doctor at some level. But, knowing what (little) I know now, it's obvious that my adaptive immune system was ramping up its reaction to my leaky gut.

Major nausea for me, never vomited yet but always wished I would because I thought it would make me feel better.
I still experience it sometimes, mainly in the morning.

I am bumping this thread up as I had another reaction last night similar to the one in August. I'm glad I posted about it as I'm going to keep track of how often this occurs. I had a mint (only thing different that I ate) after I got my hair cut @4:45 pm last night. By 6:00 I began having major pain right around my belly button (doubling over in pain) and by 6:45, I was vomitting. By 7:30 last night, I felt okay (just a little shaky) and this morning I am fine. I suppose I need to pass this onto my PCP but I"m not sure what she would do about it? I had the same reaction in august to a pickle.
Joan,
If you can tolerate an H2 type antihistamine, you might find that it may resolve the nausea problem.

I believe that I have the same problem in my esophagus, stomach, and small intestine as I have in my colon. I have had a debilitating cough for many years and it has always worsened after eating or drinking. I occasionally vomited after eating or drinking. This was brought on by extreme coughing to the point of gagging.
Like Crohn's disease, the inflammation that causes MC can indeed affect any part of the digestive system from one end to the other.
