From my dietician (the one I saw free thanks to Hershey)

Post by JLH »

I had sent my latest EnteroLab results and FPIES info.
This is part of her reply "I was not aware of the antigenic test you had. As I look to the 'immunologic reactivity' I am puzzled by some of the findings. First, I have never heard of anyone ever having any kind of reaction to rice. Second, your colitis would most certainly be affected by any and all kinds of nuts; not because of their nutritional content but because of their rapid transit, so to speak, through the large bowel."

Another email yesterday:
"Hey! Yesterday I received a report on this very topic (FPIES). As soon as I have a chance to review and distill I will pass on the information.

There are two statements which are interesting: working with a dietitian is crucial to treatment; many diagnosed allergic may be the result of cross-contamination, particularly oats. Rice is also diagnosed as an allergen as it is frequently mixed with foods, or prepared near foods, which produce allergic reactions.

Do remember that Wikipedia is composed of opinions; anyone can change the 'facts'."
DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor and don't play one on TV.
