I just looked out the window and it is really snowing....everything is white and the neighbor's Christmas lights look so pretty...it snowed for a couple of hours this afternoon, but didn't stick...then it turned to light rain, but now.....they are predicting 2-4 inches. This is totally amazing for December 1st. I really want a snow day tomorrow....I want to bake...write cards...wrap presents and be cozy in front of the fireplace....I hope I can sleep tonight....I am so excited!!!!!!

I am sitting here enjoying my coffee and fire....school is closed today! I am going to make a stab at wrapping gifts and writing a few cards. If I feel ambitious, I may dig out the cross country skis. Wish I could go back to sleep, but I am too awake now.
This snow storm is highly unusual for this early in the season...I have to chuckle at my prediction of an early/hard winter...the garden spiders were out really early and the leaves turned color about a month early too....hmmm...mother nature is facinating!

We've had the white stuff falling all night. Down here in the city it isn't even accumulating on my deck, very fine and very wet, BUT the mountains are really getting it and the ski hills are thrilled!
I'm going to the office Christmas party tomorrow night so am going to rest and do my nails all Christmassy today. I don't feel the "spirit" yet, but need to r&r it after phsio yesterday and doing a manicure will be fairly easy after Ron fashioned a set up for me where I won't strain my neck. It's also so wonderful to be able to even do my nails now that the cast is off - that and washing my hands (I still haven't gotten over how pleasurable that is after you can't do it for two months!).

Chilled Vancouver commuters faced their second day of winter hazard today, as an additional one centimeter of the peculiar white stuff fell, bringing the lower mainland to its knees and causing millions of dollars worth of damage to the marijuana crops. Scientists suspect that the substance is some form of frozen water particles and experts from Saskatchewan are being flown in. With temperatures dipping to the almost but not quite near zero mark, Vancouverites were warned to double insulate their lattes before venturing out.
Vancouver police recommended that people stay inside except for
emergencies, such as running out of espresso or biscotti to see them
through Vancouver's most terrible storm to date. The local Canadian Tire reported that they had completely sold out of fur-lined sandals.
Drivers were cautioned to put their convertible tops up, and several have been shocked to learn that their SUV's actually have four wheel drive, although most have no idea how to use it.
Weary commuters faced soggy sushi, and the threat of frozen breast implants. Although Dr. John Blatherwick, of the Coastal Health Authority reassured everyone that most breast implants were perfectly safe to 25 below, down-filled bras are flying off the shelves at Mountain Equipment Co-op.
"The government has to do something," snarled an angry Trevor Warburton. "I didn't pay $540,000 for my one bedroom condo so I could sit around and be treated like someone from Toronto."

Hahahahahaha...very funny! The snow here didn't keep Tacomans away from shopping...Costco was packed! The snow melted off the streets pretty quickly.....we really didn't need to miss a whole day of school, but I sure got a lot of Christmas stuff done...what a blessed day!

Hi M....yup school closed and I'm not sure we even had 4 inches of snow. Some areas did, but I live pretty close to the salt water and it is warmer in this part of Tacoma. We had 2-3 inches here and the streets were covered. It didn't stay cold for very long, and the snow on the streets in my neighborhood went away quickly. It is usually mild here....we don't get a lot of snow....there are snow plows, but they can't plow all the side-streets, so we have late starts or school is cancelled. It doesn't happen very often. We can go a year or two without having a snow day. Last year, our mountains didn't even get much snow and the ski areas were only open for about 30 days total. This year, they opened in early November...you never know what the weather will bring in this area...hahaha...I can remember some doozey snow storms here and we have even had blizzards.....but....usually the storms only last a few days and then the snow melts..... that is why I get so excited about snow...we just don't have many good "dumps" in Tacoma.
