How many of you feel a little like an alien when you go up and down the grocery store isles? I was at the store with my husband last night, buying Hershey's syrup to make brownies for him. Looking at all the baked goods in the bakery, etc. Not a thing there for me, on so many levels, too.
Sigh.

I even feel that way to some extent, in health food stores, but at least they speak my language, there. LOL.

I agree with Wayne...I find more help in health food stores than anywhere else but they still don't have the big picture. I laugh alot sometimes when I get someone that hasn't got a clue. Love Oma

I can't tell you how many times I've cried in the grocery store. I still sometimes get depressed there, but I've gotten somewhat used to it.

Going out to eat makes me feel worse. Last week we had my FIL's 90th Birthday party. It was an expensive buffet and all I could have was black coffee.

JEAN------FOOD

Post by barbaranoela »

Thats a bummer Jean----BUT cant U bring your own little bag of the *WHAT U can eat* AND enjoy an evening out???

I DID/DO thaT many times----
On our trip to AZ-----I packed stuff that I wouldnt have to worry about and ate on the road---(we bought one of those camper refreigerators)
They are terrific---

But then, I dont have all the food allergies that many suffer from---
So guess being Lucky in that area is a big help for me--

Take care,

Barbara,

I just eat a meal before I go to something like that. Then I'm not hungry and it's not so painful.

HI Marsha,

I feel that way in health food stores, regular stores, restaurants, parties, work, and almost anywhere. It stinks.

Love, Maggie

I guess it doesn't bother me so much in the grocery store anymore. What bothers me is not being able to go out to eat. There's so much social behavior tied up in going out that I really miss that part.
