I'm assuming you can't digest bananas? I have been on an elimination diet for a week now with no improvement that includes bananas. Maybe I should try cutting them out..

I did see that bananas are a food that supposedly boosts serotonin in the body because of it's amino acid makeup - since I react very strongly to SSRI's, as do a few of us, I wonder if its connection to serotonin is the reason? or maybe its just the fructose...I have no idea..

Well, for that I'll put up the evil dancing banana and tell you I'm sorry that it had that effect on you. Carol

Hey all,

Gabes - I haven't had a banana in a long time basically because I was eating very few foods to see what was making me sick. I still haven't figured it out. The foods I was eating were all OK both from the enterolab point of view, and that of the MRT. I didn't know that a banana was something I would react to. These were a gift fron a neighbor.
But react I did, and bananas will never cross my threshold again!

Seejanerun - I ate chicken and rice only for about 3 weeks till I got my enterolab resuts, and my greatest sensitivities were to chicken and rice.

Joan - I didn't get D. Just horrible bloating and gurgles that could be heard from a mile away. Having that with C is painful.

I LOVE bananas
Carol that evil looking banana is what I must visualize when I think of them.

I'm sorry, Lesley. Bananas do me in, too. I think it's the fructose. I can handle about 1/4 banana without too much of a reaction, but I don't take the chance anymore.
