Do I need to eliminate more foods?
I came across an article on Dr. Oz's website listing foods that should be avoided because they slow the thyroid. A few that caught my attention were almonds, pears, and peanutbutter. I only drink water, almond milks, and coffee. I cant imagine giving up almonds.
Any insight if this would make a big impact on my health would be appreciated. I struggle with eliminating legumes and nightshades already in my quest to hook up with Norman. I dont want to add more foods to my off limits list.

Well, yes, certain foods support the thyroid, and others inhibit it's function. The article at the following link contains a pretty good discussion of this.
Eating to support your thyroid — simple ways to naturally preserve thyroid function
If you have your thyroid surgically removed, though, all this will be a moot point.

That makes sense, guess i wont worry about it then. I am due for a colonoscopy next fall so i plan to ask them to look into the mast cell issue. Hopefully between that and my thyroid, i will be able to manage my MC

Thats good to know, thank you so much. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow. I already have a list of questions and sure I will have more after we meet.
