Wow! I wonder how she's doing now? When we think we're having it bad, there are always people even worse off. It's such a slap in the face that doctors, and even family members, don't believe there's anything wrong!

There was a cartoon in the Sept. Reader's Digest that showed a store window that read, "Gluten-Free Dry Cleaning". I sent an e-mail to RD to complain that to people like us, that's a bit insensitive and hurtful. Starch is gluten! And anyway, they shouldn't make light of a serious issue that they clearly don't understand.

Boo.

I asked her about helminth therapy and gave her my email address.

What a distressing situation for her! I'm down to eight foods, but I feel pretty healthy, probably due to taking vitamins and Entocort. I haven't gotten sufficient nutrients from the food I eat for several years. I sometimes feel like there isn't any end to the number of foods that bother me.

I don't know if I would consider doing the helminth therapy, though. I guess I'm not that desperate yet.

"Since I wrote ‘My Story’ in October of last year not much has changed. I have continued with Helminthic Therapy but sadly it doesn’t seem to be working for me. I have had my ‘gut buddies’, as they are known in the Helminthic group, for over 12 months. People keep telling me that they can take up to 19months to kick in. I having a ‘top up’ next week in the hope the higher numbers may have some effect. I can’t see it myself but......."

Hope it works for her.

That's pretty discouraging. I hope the "top up" works for her, too. Nineteen months is a long time to wait for something to improve.
