Sublingual Vitamin D

Post by Shar76 »

Can someone please share what brand of SL Vit.D you use and where you get it?

I recently discovered I need to be DF as well as GF & SF. Thus far, all the brands I see online contain the evil "Milk".

Thanks a bunch!

Carlson solar D gems, 400 IU

It does have sorbitol, not sure if that is a problem for you or not. These are soft gels not SL. I have issues with gluten, soy, dairy, and eggs. I order it through Amazon. I think Zizzle recommended it to me when I asked. It's reassuring to get recommendations from others here- I absolutely love it.

Hi Deb.

I appreciate the info, but I am unable to absorb soft gels at this stage. They seem to exit my body the same way they went in and my D levels remain sub-par. What a mess! lol

I, too, love getting recommendations from others who've 'been there' though. It's a great comfort.

Thanks again,

Shar, I use liquid vitamin D-3, but it's not sublingual. It is Source Naturals brand.

Joe,
That product is liquid vit d3, not sub lingual vit d3

Shar, the sub lingual form of vit d3 that I use, I don't believe is available in the USA.

There was a discussion about 2 months ago on this forum, and someone suggested sub lingual version. Do a search and I am sure you will find it.

Gabes this one only needs 5 drops for 5,000 IU, according to the Metagenics rep and my nutritionist you can let it absorb sublingual or just on your tongue, it is a very small volume and has a nice mint flavor. Even if you just drip it on your tongue (over or under) this small of a quantity will absorb long before it reaches your stomach. It's not even half a teaspoon per dose.

It is GF SF DF.

All the sublingual D's I have checked out contain ingredients that I want to avoid. For long time I went with liquid D but now I take a soft gel. My thought too was that the liquid d could be absorbed by the tongue since the amount was so small. It seems to have worked. My D level are in the 50's.

Jean your right, it's only a handful of drops and at least for me I have been using that for about 5 months now and my last D3 test in July was at 47, which for me is excellent, I seem to have a very tough time absorbing through the gut, probably due to the Crohns as mine is in the jejunum.

The other ingredients for these drops (besides vitamin D3) is:

Other Ingredients: Medium chain triglycerides, peppermint oil, spearmint oil, rosemary (antioxidant), and ascorbic acid. - See more at: http://www.metagenics.com/mp/products/d ... a38XI.dpuf
