"Tennis Elbow" - anyone heard of .....

Post by Mars »

Iontophoresis? My girlfriend is a physical therapist and told me about this type of therapy for the elbow problem. If I understood her right, it is a process of injecting medication into the inflamed area by electric pulses to reduce the inflamation. This is done about 3 times per week until the inflamation is gone and then physical therapy to help the tendons.

I need to call the doctor on Monday, the pain is now keeping me awake at night. I am in pain constantly and it is becoming VERY hard to lift, type, move my right arm. Being right-handed is becoming a nusance. I am going to be unable to function if something isn't done SOON!

Hugs,
Mars

Hi Mars. This sight has some info. Sounds a lot better than the cortisone injections that I have had. Very painful. This would definately be worth a try. Good luck.

That sounds pretty interesting. I wonder what type of medicine they are "injecting". Anti-inflammatories? or corticosteroids? It sounds like a good way to get meds that cause MCers problems. If the pain is keeping you up at night, it's time to do something.

I've had that type of treatment before...mine was on my ankle before the bone chip was discovered. It was effective and it doesn't hurt...tingles a bit and they adjust the electric pulses so it doesn't hurt, so if you get it and its feeling shocky to you, let them know and they can adjust it down a bit.

I hope you get some treatment soon.
