Hi,

I got my colonoscopy results back today : no sign of LC. He ordered some other tests to see if there isn't anything wrong with the gallbladder or pancreas.

I got what I wanted : no cortisone + additional tests to rule other things out.

If the results come back clean, then my problems could be due to giving up smoking (the nicotine residue in my gut + the signs of withdrawel ) + hormonal issues + STRESS ( a lot of stress... )

I hope it's the last one!

Grts

Julie

ps : Tex : what an interesting link! Thx!

Julie,

When did you stop smoking? Stopping smoking is a very common trigger for MC.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Tex,

I stopped in April, but I used the electronic cigarette to help me. It still contained a little bit of nicotine, but not as much as I used to smoke. I weaned off the nicotine and now, I am nocotine-free since the beginning of August. I am very proud of myself  I used to smoke 30 to 35 cigarettes a day, which is a lot. I knew that smoking was very bad for me: I had issues with my veins, ...

My specialist also mentionned that giving up smoking could be the cause of my issues. It's really all about the withdrawal. I'll just have to live with it. No way that I'll smoke again!

Thx!

Julie
