kidney pain?
For the past few days, I think I am getting kidney pain. When I eat, it gets worse though. Can this be digestive even though the pain is my mid/lower right back ? I am hoping it is a kidney stone that needs to pass ??????? How long do I let it go on before I see the doc?

Leah,
Do you eat a lot of high-oxlate foods? If so, a kidney stone is certainly a possibility.
Passing one is usually not exactly a walk in the park, so I agree that it might be a good idea to check with your doctor, especially if you are passing any blood.
If the pain is up just under the rib cage, and it kicks in soon after eating (especially after a meal that includes fat), and then fades away after 5 or 6 hours, it could be a gallbladder problem.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
