I have been struggling with bad D for the past month or so. Yesterday I ate an entire avocado, and this morning the D was gone and I feel much better. Is this just a coincidence, or did the avocado really help? Thanks!
Margaret

Hi Margaret,
I'm not aware of any characteristic of avocados that should reduce or stop D, but never look a gift horse in the mouth. Maybe it was just time for the D to end, or maybe there was something in it that you needed.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Good for you, Margaret! I hope it continues to work for you.
I'm going by the FODMAP list now because I'm still in the midst of a flare, and willing to look at anything to make it stop. A couple of things on the NO part of the list were 2 things I love and had to give up.....onions and avocados. Thus far, after 2 weeks, it hasn't helped but I'm sticking with it for awhile.
Let us know how you do!
