Jennifer Esposito (the actress)

Post by nancyl »

She is an actress who lost her job due to her serious celiac disease. You can Google her and find out more if you are interested. She has opened a bakery in NYC (wish I lived closer) and has a blog, which I do follow. I find her to be very interesting. I thought I'd add the website for her latest one which was on my FB this morning.

Thank you, Nancy. I found this article very educational. Jennifer was on Fox News in the past telling her story, and am glad to hear she is trying to do so much for the Celiac community.

The disappointing thing to me is that they are still not considering all of us with "food sensitivities." And, as we all know, we suffer in all the same ways.

You are so right, Paula. I did send her information about this website, I wonder if she will look into it.

Hi there Nancy
hope all is well with the shoulder and you are enjoying your Golf again! (and that the family are well)

my ' what appears strange ' eating plan can bring questions from work colleagues, the workers at the Wholistic/health food stores etc.
I mention that there are hundreds of people like me, and the Dx rate of these conditions is on the increase.

I think the main part of their reactions is 'fear' - fear of the likelyhood they will be Dx with an auto immune conditions, which means diet and lifestyle changes (what appears to them as a MAJOR limitation to how they are currently living life)

sub consciously I think they already know what we are doing, how we are working, and what we eat, is causing symptoms and niggly issues, to accept that (like we had to accept our MC Dx) and embrace what it requires is too much for people to comprehend.. too much or too hard so they ignore it!! (and hope it goes away)

as I quite often joke about with people, once you spend whole days and weeks on the toilet, you will be surprised what you will be willing to give up/change to be able to leave the house!!!!

Someone is. Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

She doesn't have celiac, but is gluten sensitive. She found out by going on the show survivor, and only was given rice to eat on that show.

lando - thank you for pointing that out for me. I am glad to hear "we" are included. I am impressed with what I have read, and looked at her store's web site. Wish I lived in NYC. I'd go to her bakery for sure!
