Exercise seems to help to bring us more energy and inspiration, but we have to be careful that we don't overdo it, because as long as our MC is active, we have much lower limits than we would otherwise have. It takes most of the energy that our body can muster, just to fight the inflammation, and begin to heal the damage.
Relaxing activities that help to take our mind off the disease are also helpful, including yoga, meditation, listening to music, etc.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Well, the only problem with being out of town is being able to eat correctly.
It takes a while to not obsess over this whole thing and I think we all do ...until we feel better and get our lives back. Then it gets much easier to get on with life ( just with diet changes).

Another example of how helpful this is for me! I recently had a follow-up visit with my Gastro. I told her that my energy level remains low and that I am having difficulty resuming my previous level of activity. I asked if the problem is my MC and she said no and that something else is probably the problem, that my energy should be back by now. She suggested that I see my GP. Most GI specialists apparently believe that the damage to the gut will heal in a few weeks. Actually, it takes a few years. But fortunately for most of us, after 6 months to a year we will usually experience enough healing that a significant amount of our energy will be back, and most of us are typically almost back to normal in most ways, after about 2 years (assuming that we have discovered all of our food sensitivities and we are carefully avoiding all of them). I tried Entocort in the beginning and I only took 3mg per day and it stopped the D fast. The MD I saw said it must not be MC so he had me stop. Within a few weeks I was back to Mud. Several months later I found a new MD/Gastro as I had tried to do the food route but was getting pretty weak and my weight was not good so I started on the full dose 9mg of Entocort. I was on 9 mg for two months but It went just OK, never had the formed like I did the first time. I started taking Allegra and was able to reduce to 6 mg and I finally had some formed plus missed days so I reduced to 3 mg the next month. I was on 3 mg for two months and started missing some days but it was a mix of textures. Currently I am on 3mg every other day for the last two weeks. Today was the first day in several that I had water after very good forms. SO... I will keep plugging along slowly and hopefully I will be able to hold at the every other day for a bit. I am worried about long term effects of the steroid so I have been looking at the posts about Amitrypline and Aascol..
