Sorry about Monday's chat (lack of)

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone,

Sorry I wasn't around for Monday's chat, lots going on around here.

This week has been the week from hell! What can go wrong - HAS!!

My aunt passed away this week and the funeral was today.

My elbow is KILLING me.....went to the doctor yesterday and got a cortisone shot in it. There is extreme inflamation and it is worthless about noon each day. Doc gave me an RX for physical therapy and told me the inflamation should begin to ease up in a few days. I am to call him in a week and let him know if it is any better.

Received a B-12 shot to boost my energy - don't have any. I barely make it through the day and then need to rest all weekend to have enough to start the next week. He said I can have one every 4 weeks, we'll see if they help. I usually find that I have increased energy for about 3 of those weeks.

I'm back on sublingual Levbid for cramping and spasms. I am to only take them as needed. Been having problems with spasms lately.

Increased my Nexium to twice daily for one week. Breakthru GERD even though I take a Nexium each morning. Nausea is awful. Sigh.............

My house is a mess, the tree's not up and presents are sitting in the living room waiting for the elves to wrap them! Still only finished about half of my shopping. By the time I get my tree up it will time to take it down!

Other than these things..................Life is GRAND!!!! LOL

Anyways, the chat just slipped my mind! We'll try again next week!

Love to all!
Mars

I'm very sorry about your Aunt, my condolences.

I hope that dang elbow improves and that you find the strength and time to enjoy the holidays...hmmmm just why do they call them the "holidays" when we all seem to work so hard?

Dang, Mars,

You ARE having a tough time. I hope that cortisone shot starts working pretty soon.

You know, it looks to me as though GERD is steadily becoming a more widespread problem, (that is, it seems to be affecting more people), and it's becoming a more serious problem for those who have it. There's a truly urgent need for more research, and new treatment methods. It seems that very few people who have the problem, are getting satisfactory control, with conventional treatments.

I hope the rest of your week is much better.

Love,
Wayne

Sorry to hear about your aunt too, Mars. And there does seem to be an aweful lot going on for you right now. We are getting to cut down on all the stuff that is tiring and do more of the stuff that is fun. It can just get to be so much, and then it is not fun. And part of it always ends up more on one person then others. So we are going to try and divvy it up, while preparing a meal that has been planned out to the hilt. I know one of the deserts requested is called, " Chocolate hazelnut truffle loaf with white vanilla sauce". Believe me, it is decadent, but out of this world too. You pour the white creme sauce on a place, then lay a slice of the truffle on top, couple squirts of whipped cream and some chocolate curls and or orange peel curls and it looks like something you bought in a fancy resteraunt. And none of it is free of the things that I am going to have to ween myself off of. There is another dish the kids want, baked Leeks with Gruyer cheese baked with a light crumb crust. It is a dish that melts in your mouth. Anyway, you get the gist of what we are doing.

We also want to watch the movie "Elf" again, and maybe Shreck, they are so much fun.

Maybe play a game......who knows, just want to have my family around.

I thought I would also tell you Mars, that my brother thought that while he was here last weekend he would get any bugs out of my puter, and take out things that I don't use or need. However, since he doesn't have the MSN Premium Package that I have he took out something that screwed it totally up. He came over yesterday and got it all back to where it should be, but was unsuccessful with my Messenger. Something he did is blocking me from setting it up again, so I have to call a technician to help me tomorrow so that I can get back on line via that route to chat.

It also looks like my new grandchild will be a boy, as they seen a weenie today during the ultrasound. His name will be Mason Hunter Jacob and then their last name, just not putting that here. SOOOOO I will be making a little Tux for the wedding! Cool huh? It will be the first boy for his parents, they have two granddaughters. Me its my first grandchild. It will be the first great grandchild for my parents, and brothers and on and on. We did not have allot of boys born in our family, so this is super news.

Wayne,

I've never been diagnosed with GERD, but definately get acid reflux when I eat too much gluten. Increased population with GERD may also follow what some here suspect of increased population with food intolerances that are not well understood/diagnosable.

Feel better Mars, okay! Hard time of year to have any energy though.

Mars,

I'm really sorry to hear about your Aunt.

AND that your elbow is no better. I hope the shot gives you some relief. Bill is suffering from the same thing right now. He has even had to drastically curtail his golfing. Thats how I know he is suffering. He won't go to the doctor. I bought him a brace for his arm and he made himself a sling out of a strip of old sheet. Also taking Motrin occasionally. He really doesn't make a very good patient.

Anyway, I sure hope yours improves soon. Especially before Christmas is here and that isn't far away.

Katy,

That's a good observation. I occasionally have a few problems with reflux/GERD, but only if I am having a reaction to one of my food intolerances.
