Nerve tingling precluding diarrhea?

Post by JenniferS »

Yep, it's me with the random weird symptoms again. :) I'm curious with this one--want to know how many of you experience this and if you think this might be a piece of your D puzzle.

Often, before the D hits, I'll get tingling in my hips--lower back. And I will also get a chill/tingling running up my scalp. I have had a tingle also run through my gut, if that makes sense, although that is much less frequent.

I remember early in discussions with my GI, he had mentioned D can be caused by nerve reactions (or something similar).

I saw your post, and I wanted to reply. I have your random, weird symptom as well, and I'm not sure why I have never posted about it. I will be curious if anyone else has had a similar experience. I have had very similar sensations since this whole thing started with me in 2010. I have no answers for you except to say it's happened to me for about 3 years, and while it has lessened, it has not fully gone away.
Just before I would have D...sometimes the sensation will start in my hips and run down the backs of my legs. Other times it is even more near my female parts...then sorta drifts back. I've had the scalp and gut ones as well, but not as often. It has been concerning to me, but it's happened for so long now, I just see it as a sign that I have to go soon because now mine isn't D; I mostly just have normal BMs. When I was re-acting, it used to be every day and/or any time of the day. It basically only happens now in the AM before I get out of bed, but as I said, not everyday.
