Funny Story

Post by Peggy »

Tonight after work I gave a ride home to a stranded co-worker of mine. I was sort of in unfamiliar territory, not my usual route home. Just after I dropped her off I turned down a side street and here's a car parked in the middle of the road with vehicles on either side. There was no way for me to get by. Two scruffy denim clad guys were checking out one of the parked cars. I waited patiently (for about a minute  ) then tooted my horn. One of the guys looks at me and points down an alley for me to go that way. I point straight letting him know that's the way I want to go. He points down the alley again. I point to the sky, delicately using my well-manicured middle finger. He starts towards my car! I reverse it and get back to the road I had turned off on. I'm a single gal and there are two of these "denim clad" guys - of course I'm not going to stick around. The next thing I know I'm being pulled over!!! I signal, pull over, and get out of my car. The one policeman says to me "Didn't you know we were police?" I said "Gee, I can tell now by the pretty flashing lights on your car!" How was I supposed to know these guys in jeans, in an unmarked car, with no warning lights, were the cops???

I guess I intimidated them more than they intimidated me because I just walked back to my car, got in, and drove away.

I would have loved to have taken this one to court! "Gee, Judge, could you tell me ... would I get a ticket if I just parked my car in the middle of a city street, no flashers, blocking all traffic?"

Hmmppphhh

You Go Girl!!!!!!!
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha

You're a feisty rascal, aren't you. I can't believe you actually gave the one-finger salute to a cop, and got away with it. LOL.

Have you ever wondered why Ron hides in the trunk, when he rides with you?

You go Girl!

But you are right, anyone going the same route would wonder who they were too. There was no indicators for you to see to say otherwise. Isn't that kinda not the usual way to do it? I mean here, even if and more importantly too, if they are unmarked police cars, they should have some lights and be in recognizable police clothing. I don't think I would have done it any different either, well maybe the center finger thingy you did, but a girl has to be careful in this day and age.

I would have loved to be a bug on the wall though???

Wayne,

There you are. Didn't see any original posts by you, so maybe it's time to post the group an update. How 'bout it?

Hope you're doing well. Guess you're smack in the middle of this winter storm bidness. Er, make that, winter wonderland. Ha!

Yours, Luce
