This pain...

Post by Lesley »

It's been going and coming all day. The C is a bit better, and the pain is not constant like it was last night. But it hasn't gone. I don't know who this belongs to. My OBGYN? Or my GI?

Hi Leslie,
Have you had your parathyroid hormone and calcium checked? The reason I ask is because constipation and GERD can be symptoms if parathyroid disease. I have now finally been diagnosed with this and am awaiting a date for surgery. It's been a tough road as I think my MC is a byproduct of this disease, but feel I am closer than ever to getting my life back. Your primary care doctor can run the labs needed and if you do have this done, you have to have PTH, calcium and vitamin d run all with the same blood draw. Here is a list of the symptoms of parathyroid disease.

Not sure if this helps but it might be worth looking into.

Love,
Linda

Hi Linda,
Thanks for your suggestions. I can't find calcoim level checks, but I have been dx'd with osteoporosis. My Vit D is WNR, but a bit low for MC although I take tons of it.
I don't see a nagging pain in the right lower quadrant being proposed as a symptom, but I could ask my doc about it.

Joan, I will ask my doc.

Thanks guys. So tired of this stuff. I want a gallon of ice cream!
