Tex,
I love all these emoticons but I can get only the first pg. to come up in my notes. I can get my picture of myself in that little bar on my profile pg but then it doesn't save. Is it me or is it my iPad??? Love all these cute bday pix and want to use them!

Everything will be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end.
Hi Jean,
To make all the other emoticons available, you should be able to just click on the link below the emoticons that says, "View more Emoticons", and then enlarge the window that pops up on your screen. If it doesn't open, you may have pop-ups blocked in your browser options. To add an emoticon to your message, just click on the one or ones you want, and the system will automatically add the necessary code to your message.
The system may not be accepting your avatar image file because it is either too large, or the wrong format. JPG files work best, though it should also accept GIF files. The size limit is 6 KB, and that's a common hangup. The resolution of digital images these days is usually much higher than necessary for on-screen viewing. Your camera may be storing files at 300 dpi for example, but most computer monitors are only capable of displaying 72 dpi (newer monitors can handle 90 dpi, I believe). IOW, I usually convert the resolution of image files to 72 dpi, and that reduces the file size tremendously, without losing any detail for normal internet viewing. I usually set the physical dimensions of the image to 2 inches or less, and of course, you can compress the JPG file size when you save the new file in your image processor, in order to make it fit within the required file size limits.
If you're still unable to make it work, please feel free to email an image file to me, and I'll be happy to resize it and persuade the system to accept it. The original image file usually works best. That way I can resize it efficiently so as to retain maximum detail in a small file.

Thank you all for wishing me a happy birthday.
I started it in New Jersey, and ended it in Maryland, where my sister-in-law made me a lovely gluten free cake from a King Arthur muffin mix.
We just got home from two weeks in New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. I was very nervous about the trip, and sent all the people we were planning to stay with a list of what I can't eat, and what I can eat. Everyone was very kind and accommodating, and cooked only what I can eat, and I didn't get sick. I did take a lot of food from home, and even took my toaster with me so as not to get cross-contaminated.
It's good to be home, though.
