Up until now I have been eating eggs in the hope that they would be ok. I have been glutin, dairy and soy free (to my knowledge) for nearly a month, am on 30mg of prednisone daily and still have not seen Norman. I will begin the tapering on Saturday, and hope for the best. It is hard to know if it is helping or not, but I don't want to continue on prednisone. I was previously on Budesonide and it really didn't seem to help.
It is at least a place to start...

Hi Darla,
Now that you are also avoiding eggs, you should see some improvement.
It appears that rice and tuna are the only 2 of the other 11 antigenic foods that may cause problems (unless you were taking prednisone when you sent the sample to EnteroLab). Prednisone can significantly suppress antibody production, and that can drastically reduce the sensitivity of the tests.
Since your other test results were positive though, that suggests that your immune system wasn't suppressed by a large percentage, so even the 11 antigenic foods test results may be reliable. At the very least, you know that rice and tuna definitely should be avoided.
Do you mind if I add your results to our list here?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks for your feedback, Tex. I have learned soo much from this forum, and I am appreciative of everyone's concern and help.
Of course you may post these results or use them however they might be helpful for someone. I was not taking prednisone at the time I sent the specimen. Does that mean that almond isn't completely out? I don't know exactly what a 1+ means in practical terms.

Sorry to hear Darla that you still are not seeing positive results. Like Tex said, omitting eggs will help. Are you also being careful with fiber ( not eating raw fruits and veggies, beans, legumes etc)? This process can be a long one. Hang in there. The last piece of my puzzle was histamines. If you don't start feeling better soon, it may be the next thing you need to explore.
Good luck
Leah
