Hello - I just wanted to share this, as it helped me. I've come and looked at this site once in a while but not registered til now. Have had MCC for 2 yrs., first had it 2 mo.s, then it went away, but came back a year later - been with me 23 months now. I had the usual awfulness and symptoms, alway looking to see where the nearest bathroom was whenever I went out anywhere etc. I got a nasty gnawing nausea that was with me much of the time, especailly the early part of the day or when I smelled food cooking.
It was a big problem as Gravol was too drowsy-making, even the supposed non-drowsy or the weaker longer lasting one. So I went to the compounding pharmacy here to get some Bonamine (which you can't get in main stream drugstores anymore in Canada). It turned out the pharmacist's wife had a similar affliction, and had found a particular brand of Curcumin to have helped. So I had him point it out to me and I tried it. (I had been using another brand, but it didn't do much for me). So, I started this new brand, and on the 3rd day my stomach/head was noticaby more settled, and that night, and even more the next day.
The nausea is alot better than it was, the runs have slown down a little, not a lot, and there's alot less cramping than there was, thank goodness!
You should know the pharmacist warned me to only take 2 tabs a day, NO MORE, so I take one with breakfast and also with dinner. It is called Curcumind by Longvida. It is Curcumin 133 mg. 111 IU of Vitamin D3. The warning the pahrmacist gave me is that it can THIN YOUR BLOOD, so you have to be aware of that and clear it with your doc. I believe Omega 3 in large doses can do that too, so you don't want to be doubling up on something that can potentially thin your blood. He says if I get continued success to see if one tab a day will give the same results. AGAIN, NO MORE THAN 2 A DAY, OR YOU MAY START GETTING NOSEBLEEDS, BRUISE EASILY OR WORSE. YOUR DOCTOR NEEDS TO KNOW YOU'RE TAKING THIS BEFORE ANY DENTAL WORK OR SURGERY.
I've been taking this new one for one week now. I still have a little nausea that comes and goes, but it is so much better compared to what I was going through - I felt like I was at the end of my rope! And I'm only having to get up about twice to the bathroom in the night now.
Anyways I hope this helps someone else. Bye for now.

Wow, Marcella-- I also had very intense nausea every morning. I have it resolved now but for those of us who suffer with nausea as part of our MC it can be extreme and debilitating. Thanks for sharing the supplement you found. I'm sure there are others who have nausea and are seeking relief.

Glad the supplement is helping you. I googled it and found this on Longvida's website:
"Longvida® contains all ingredients found in our food chain, contains no animal products, and is gluten-free. Longvida® may contain ingredients made from corn and soy. Longvida is made using natural turmeric extract made and perfected in India."
Like with all supplements (or medications for that matter) it is important to check the inactive ingredients. A person sensitive to soy and/or corn would probably want to avoid it.

Hi Marcella,
Welcome to the discussion board.
I note that wheat is the only food listed in your sensitivity list. If it is the only one you are avoiding, that's probably why you continue to have diarrhea. Most of us here are also sensitive to all products that contain dairy and/or soy. Some of us have other food sensitivities, also.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi, During my last muscle biospy the nurse who was suctioning out the blood complained that I kept bleeding. The doctor said " He takes supplements". Make sure if you have any procedures done you notify the doctor before and they will ask you to discontinue the supplements many days before the procedure. Jon
