SNOW!!!!! I am missing it!!!
Well I am really missing the snow----been watching all the weather and sure has been a big blow!!!
Hope all that are in its way---stay safe and keep warm--
It was a bit chilly here but by mid-day its in the high 60's
Tomorrow I go for Tai-Chi (spelling) cus my friend Carmine WILL NOT let grass grow under her feet!!! hahahaha---well it can grow under mine!!
I can just see me----cus I am so very un-co-ordinated!!!
But we must get the system calmed down
And then she goes for YOGA too----- ---I will be so calm , I wont know myself!!!!
I now can say---Everything finished @ last!!! HOORAY!!!!
nOW i CAN GET DOWN DOWN TO SOME--oops---wrapping a few things--
And the poor person that rented this place before us, keeps getting dire phone calls----guess she didnt tell them---bye bye???
Take care all
Dont shop till ya drop
keep a smile
missing my time here--

We could do with a bit of snow around here as well. Brisbane had a white covering a week or so back but it was hail, not snow. We have had very high temps for this early in the season & bad destructive storms. Have not had a proper wet season for ages & it looks as though we are in for it this year. The long range forecast is for a severe storms & cyclones with lots of rain. We need the rain badly but the rest we can do without. 2 people killed in the storm 2 nights ago & lots of damage in many parts of the country. One poor woman had a tree fall on her car & another fellow hit by lightening.
One poor fellow got stuck in a gondola thingy 27 floors up outside a very tall building for 2 hours in the worst storm so far. 3000 flashes of lightening in an hour & very high destructive winds. They managed to rescue his mate but he was stuck there the whole time.

I didn't realize the weather was so violent in Queensland. That sounds like late spring or early summer weather in the plains states, here in the U S.

Hello Wayne
Summer storms are expected here not only in Queensland but throughtout most of Australia. We have not had a cyclone for quite some time now & they usually hit in the North of Qld. We do get quite violent storms at times & they seem to be getting more so. Keeping in tune with the rest of the world I guess. Although about 30 years ago the city of Darwin in the Northern Territory was almost completely flattened & the whole place had to be rebuilt.
The other day 40 homes were destroyed in a small town in the west & the lady killed 2 days ago was in a 4 wheel drive & a large tree was blown on to it. Her 3 year old child was Ok fortunately. 2 other people struck by lightening, one fatally. 60,000 homes were without power for some time. another person was eating in a resturant when lightening struck her fork as she was eating. Fortunately she was not too badly injured.
High winds & lightening seem to be our greatest risk apart from flooding.
The roof of another home was struck & completely destroyed. Wind also overturned a semitrailer.
The guy who was cleaning windows on the high building was eventually rescued when the fire department managed to cut through the glass to get him to safety. He was up there in 90km winds with the platform being bashed against the building. Scary

Liz,
Lightening is a relatively high risk in this country, also. Having your fork struck by lightening, and living to tell about it, has to be the experience of a lifetime. I can't decide if she is lucky to be alive, or unlucky to have been struck in the first place.
That same thing happened to a couple of window washers here in this country this past week, (the platform swinging out of control in a high wind, and repeatedly crashing into the side of the building). The fire department rescued them the same way, by managing to luckily pick the right window, and breaking it, and latching onto the swinging platform.

Wayne
