First, Tex, thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the time yesterday to educate me (yet again!)! If any of you read the post I posted (wow, that sounds redundant), you know I was dealing with stomach pain and chronic nausea. I've had this pretty much non-stop for over a year. My GI suggested acid blockers, but I balked as I'd heard those were bad.
Well, Tex listed some options, and I tried one last night. This morning, for the first time in like forever, I woke with 0 nausea and 0 pain. Then, the real test came a couple hours later when I ate (as it'd gotten to the point where any eating hurt. I ate maybe 1/2 of potatoes and half a chicken. Normally, I'd feel the pain the moment the first bite hit my stomach. No pain, not during eating nor now 30 min. later. :)
No stomach pain or nausea!

Great! With a little fine-tuning, you may soon have your treatment program perfected, and you should be able to meet those publishing deadlines with a lot less stress. And hopefully you'll have your life back, so that you can begin enjoying life again.
You're very welcome. I hope the rest of your day goes as well as it has so far.
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Diagnosed 2011 with LC. Currently on Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
Hi, Monique,
I took Zantac. Although it might not have helped as much as I initially thought as I still had a fair amount of stomach pain yesterday. Although no nausea, so maybe that's a step in the right direction.
I'm going to give it a week, and if I'm still hurting, I'm going to get a bit pushy in asking my GI to check on some other things like a hiatus hernia, ulcers, pancreatitis, and gallbladder issues. Sometimes it seems like once they know you have lc, they attribute everything to that. Which I'm sure is not entirely unbased, but I suspect, our bodies being the complex machines they are, there are times when other issues crop up. :)
