NOT WANTING TO BE A NUISANCE TEX, BUT, I WOULD BE BEHOLDEN IF YOU COULD ADVISE ME.

Hi Janet,
Tiny red spots such as you describe often show up as we age, and in that case they probably don't mean anything. However, that usually doesn't happen in a matter of just a few days.
If the red spots are a rash (IOW, if they itch), you may be allergic to something around you or even something that you are eating. Or you could be having a mast cell reaction associated with MC
Are you taking budesonide? It's not a common side effect, but in a few cases, budesonide can cause small reddish-purplish pin-point sized spots on the skin.
If you have started taking a "new" medication in the last few days, or if you have recently added a new food to your diet, you may be allergic to it.
If you feel as though your throat swells, that might be a sign of an anaphylactic reaction to something in your diet, or an insect sting, or something else. During an anaphylactic reaction most people have a red rash on their upper chest and arms, and they feel flushed, with either a racing heartbeat or heart palpitations, and low blood pressure.
If you feel that you are having an anaphylactic reaction, you should tell your doctor. If the symptoms become worse, and you have difficulty breathing, or you become confused and/or light-headed, call an ambulance or go to the emergency room immediately.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
DEAR TEX, MANY THANKS FOR YOUR PROMPT REPLY.
YES I AM TAKING BUDESONIDE AND THE RASH IS EXACTLY A YOU STATED. PURPLISH RED DOTS, ON MY ARMS AND CHEST ALSO MY HUSBAND SAYS ON MY BACK BETWEEN MY SHOULDER BLADES.

BUT SO FAR SO GOOD, I WILL LET YOU KNOW THE OUTCOME.

Yes, Benadryl should help to reduce the symptoms, and it should be safe to take along with budesonide. I'm not aware of any cautionary warnings about possible drug interactions between antihistamines and budesonide.
