Promoting drugs is a bit like promoting rock stars — you have to push 'em as hard as you can, before the bubble bursts. Obviously there must still be a lot of money left on the table regarding statins. The most-prescribed drug in the country is Crestor:

I recall in the past some statin promotors wanting statins added to the water supply. Seems in the end they might get their way.
A few weeks ago I recall seeing a national TV special in Australia about statins not being terribly helpful for most. It was a damning report. As a result I've seen a few articles about people in that country stopping their medication. With these recent new recommendations in the US, almost seems as if new statin sales are needed to be made elsewhere in the world to made up the difference.
