Thanks. I tried Medicaid but you either have to make less than $200 per month to qualify, or have a doctor say you're incapable in some way, which my doctor couldn't do because he has not diagnosed me yet. I wouldn't want to be incapable anyway though. I like doing things, even if it does make it more complicated that I go 4-5 times a day. I have followed a GF and, as a result of the diet, a SF (soy free) diet because I learned from the diet I'm highly intolerable to soy, even moreso than gluten. I get watery stools from it. I have no pain, though at times I feel like my intestines narrow some because when I eat a lot the day before, and haven't went to the bathroom yet, it feel cramped in my lower abdomen. I know its this because when do go I feel better.

What is a DF diet?

Actually, Medicaid guidelines are based on income, and not diagnosis. You would need to make less than 133% of the federal poverty guideline. That would be $1273.48 per month if you are single, and if you have children, it is substantially higher.

DF- dairy free. Most of us here, cannot tolerate the protein in dairy. I found that especially hard to give up, but now I use a coconut creamer, and eat sorbet instead of ice cream.

I can have little dairy, but not a lot. Though dairy causes me gas, it doesn't cause as much of a problem as gluten or soy. I should probably leave it be, because I wouldn't have so much gas, but I've pretty much given up everything else... I do drink almond milk in place of regular milk for like cereal and milk for gf cookies or deserts, but when it comes to ice cream, I either have it or revert to frozen yogurt, which I assume has just as much dairy? IDK.

As for Medicaid, all they gave me was non-sense. I talked to a lady and thought I was talking to someone at the DMV. She basically told me I would need to get something showing I'm disabled, which I don't think I am, from my doctor in order to be considered for assistance. For the low income, she flat out told me I did not meet the requirements, because I would have to make less than 200 a month, in which I replied "who only makes 200 a month?" She basically didn't answer. I make less than 1200 a month, so by those standards I should be approved. Plus, I have two kids in my household.

I have found gluten free, non-dairy frozen fruit sorbet and coconut ice cream, they are good substitutes for regular ice cream.
