It is amazing to me how closely my gut is connected to my esophagus. 3 days of C, GERD is more and more painful and pronounced. Relief from the C, although no Norman is sight, GERD is virtually gone. I can visualize things moving down, but moving up? I can't visualize that.

I can totally relate to the connection of GERD and MC. I wish I figured out that my GERD was food allergy (gluten) related before I blew out my colon too. I blame my two GIs for their failure to make the food connect.

Lesley, I believe the GERD I had was purely inflammation from my esophagus and stomach. Makes sense to me that when the whole system is inflamed the GERD is worse. That was my experience.

I haven't managed to get my system under control. I have tried so hard, but I am always in the same cycle. A few days of C until I am desperate and the GERD is unbearable. Mineral oil, citrucel, Dr. Shulze's, a few hours or a day of D running the gamut of everything except N, and so on.
I wish some healing would start to happen already.
