Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for all of you. We are off to Massachusetts tomorrow to visit my 91 y/o mother and my sisters and their families.

My mother's motto is "be careful." "Hey Mom, I'm going to Disney World!!!" "Be careful!" It doesn't always fit but that's my mother and that's probably why she is 91 and living in her own home.

So, I wish you all a nice day and a nice dinner but be careful!!!

:hungry:

Thanks Jean! And thank you for loving and supporting authors. Enjoy my book. Got great reviews and lots of positive feedback. This month I have 3 book clubs who have made it their selection. Exciting! I'll be appearing to discuss my book and meet my readers.

Lesley,

Glad you loved my book! You'll be happy to know that in my next book I might send Kenned to Israel. Thinking about it a lot and have done lots of research already---history, geography etc...I am letting that gel in my head before I plunge into it. My book writing is like cooking a bouillabaisse--keep throwing ingredients in until I feel happy with the concoction  You know Harry has a nephew in Israel and he might just attend a bar-mitsva or something...

Jean,

Thank you! Enjoy!

I can be your consultant.
I know you speak French. Do you speak Arabic? Have you been to the middle east?

Hi Lesley,

That is sweet of you and thank you for offering to help. I don't think I can tackle a book like that if I hadn't been to the Middle East and if I didn't understand it as deeply as I do. Yes, I've been, at least 30 times. I lived in Israel for 4 years between the ages of 14-18 when I went back to Spain and Italy where I lived until I moved to the U.S. My mother sent me to a kibbutz in Ashkelon for 2 years at 14. So, my Hebrew is fluent and my Arabic isn't bad either. Also, when I was reporting I covered Middle East politics and happenings... I actually read the newspaper Haaretz online in its English version.

When I go, which is almost every year or two, like you do, I stay in Raanana, which is very Anglo-Saxon (I think many are from South Africa) although I have a cousin in Haifa too. Where do you stay? And like you, I hate that trip. From L.A it's even worse than Atlanta. I remember that trek when I lived in L.A. I dreaded it.

Surprised, huh? You didn't know you belong to my tribe...

Have you ever read Daniel Silva's books? My favorite author when it comes to books that take place in the Middle East.
