Mrs. Columbo and Hazel - My Computer Went Nuts

Post by tex »

Sorry I left the chat, without any explaination, or goodbye, but my computer suddenly went nuts, and refused to allow me to use the keyboard. Rebooting didn't solve the problem. I finally had to restore the damn thing.

I still don't know why it suddenly went berserk, but it was a major operating system problem, 'cause I couldn't execute any shortcuts on the desktop, or open any applications from the menu, besides not being able to use the keyboard. I tried rebooting 3 times, but the problem always remained, until I restored the registry. Must be an issue between XP and Java.

Anyway, sorry that I disappeared so abruptly, I didn't mean to be rude.

Luv,
Galahad

Jill,

Actually, it was still going, about an hour after that. When in doubt, it never hurts to check in. Sometimes the chats last for about two hours.

Love,
Tex

Barbara thought you were bored with the conversation! Sorry you had that problem. I hope I never have it because I don't know how to fix anything that isn't fixed with rebooting. I'd need registry restoration lessons. Glad you're back up and running. Well, not running....

Hi Hazel,

I was afraid one or both of you would jump to conclusions, and feel that way, that's why I posted this thread.

I enjoyed the chat. It was really frustrating when my computer quit responding. I called it a few appropriate names, but that didn't seem to help. LOL.
