Sorry Ya'll
Sorry I haven't been on the board much.....You all are my family so I can speak frankly.....We have gotton into a bind with out my paycheck and now loss of job. we are exploring some options...so maybe we can clear it all up soon. It just depresses me or better put...puts me "down in the dumps". The last time we were in the bind we are in was when we were kids I'm sure. I have one more week on therapy then I am going to ask for a release from Dr. and go look for work. It's just not a happy Xmas this year. In fact I have told all the kids that they will have to give us exstended time to do xmas...cause this year is a rough one. Of course they all say...it's not a big deal. I have kids that were taught that it's better to give than recieve anyway. We just can't give to anyone this year. But we are all well and that's something. I didn't want to bore anyone with my problems but you are all my family and I value your opinions and suggestions. I am gathering info trying to find a place to either refinance/consolidate/etc. or all of the above. Bankruptcy is out of the question as we would like to maintain our credit. Anyway that's where I have been and wanted you all to know I have not been ignoring you all. I truly love you all. Love Oma
First of all, here's a great big hug for you!
Second of all, there is no need to apologize. Sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do!
Medical bills and the loss of a paycheck, the two combined give you every reason to be "down in the dumps". Holidays added in the mix can even deepen the humm drumms. One issue by itself is more than some can handle.
It's wonderful that your children understand your position. Any chance of you making something for them with your sewing? I'm sure they will understand if you have to wait. There's always "Christmas in July"! Make it next years "special holiday".
Hang in there Oma. One day at a time, one problem at a time. Don't go back to work earlier than you are ready, that can only lead to extended healing and possible permanent problems! Things will work themselves out.
You are in my thoughts my friend!

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Oh, bummer. I am not financially astute (or even competent) so I have no advice about those issues. I do think you will be able to find a job and that will be a big help, but don't rush into anything too physical. Even at 6 weeks you are not 100%! I hope you can find something where you're not on your feet all day. Have you looked at schools in the area? A lot of them have Instructor Assistants. They don't make great money but do have benefits and a work day that coincides with the school day. Full time = 30 hours/week. Some special needs kids have their own personal I.A. At least that's how it is in Ohio. Just a thought.
Keep your spirits up. You know we love you!

Sorry that things are not going so well for you. Feeling down & the pain after your op would probably not help much either. I am sure you will eventually sort out your problems.
About the gifts. The important thing is your love for one another, material things don't really matter as long as you have each other. Maybe if you could make or cook a small gift for each of your family members it would make you feel better. My younger sister & I more often than not do that. It is a gift from the heart & something that you have put time into which to me is worth much more that something bought over the counter in a minute.
Hope you get things sorted out soon. Here is a little something to cheer you up.
Love

Hugs to you Oma!
It certainly has been a rough time for you lately. My niece is very broke right now...she works part time and is trying to finish-up graduate school. I told her that she should cook-up some coupons like....a coupon for the purchase of a bundle of firewood for our next camping trip. That would be a great gift and chances are...she will have more $ by next summer. I don't really need anything and coupons for future services or funny things would be greatly appreciated. I would love to receive a coupon for a few hours of help in my yard next spring!
Anyway, I know how emotionally hard the holidays can be, and having financial and health issues certainly doesn't help. Take care and know I'm thinking of you...BTW...I'm sending you a coupon for health and happiness in the form of a big hug!
Love, JJ

Hi Oma,
I can totally understand what you are saying and this is our family and we definitely are here to support you. Christmas has become just an overblown holiday in many ways and I can remember an orange and a pair of socks when I was a kid and I was happy with them. If you did that now for kids, they would throw the orange at you and strangle you with the socks. A TV, DVD or something expensive is where most of them are. I am sure your kids understand the situation and please hang in there and take care of your knee first and things will work themselves out - they always seem too.
Love you lady, Maggie

OMA,
I'm sorry you are having a hard time right now. I know how it is with the bills. We refinanced a few years ago, and it did help.
I hope you figure something out. It is very stressful!!
Maggie, thanks for the great visual about the sox and orange, that gave me the best laugh I've had in a while!
Love, Kathyp

Jaco, a parrot in Salzburg, could not only speak but seemed to understand grammar. Whenever his person left, Jaco would say "God be with you." But when several people were departing, Jaco would change it to "God be with all of you."

Oma,
I'm sure its a big gift to your kids to know that you are healing and won't be in as much pain anymore. Take it one day at a time. Some how these things have a way of working themselves out. You are strong and will get through.
I'm chomping at the bit to get back to work...not for financial reasons yet, but because I need to be doing something other than sitting around home. I bet you are feeling a bit of the same...leaves you nothing to think of but your troubles.
Hang in there.
Katy

Thanks for letting us know: I don't write you very often, but I miss you when you don't post. Christmas is such a burden for most people - I think it's ridiculous to buy people presents on a particular day, rather than when you just feel the urge. I mean really, would you rather get a present because someone feels obligated to buy it, or just because they love you?
You have lots of people who care about you. Please write more, instead of less, Love, Marsha
