Any adivce about esophageal spasms?
I've had esophageal spasms for as long as I can remember...even when I didn't really know that was what it was; I thought it was heart palpitations. Lately, they have gotten worse. My CC is really under control..so I' just don't understand why these spasms are getting more frequent and more intense. Anyone else out there have them? What do you do for them? Anyone on meds for them and if so, what do you take?
Here's a link to a survey we did here on the board not quite a year and a half ago.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I have them because I have an esophageal dismotility issue. I notice them when I take an oversize supplement without enough water. Not chewing enough can also trigger an attack in me. Sometimes it's just there; it was when I had a barium swallow test. I was slow in the esophagus and very fast in the intestines. They didn't suggest anything for me to do or take. It's not life-threatening, I suppose, but it can be very painful when it happens.
Also have sleep apnea
