Flaxseed oil. Good for us or bad for us?
That's my question...
The online reviews are mixed from people who say it reduced their arthritic inflammation to those who say they ended ended with swelled legs and feet ;-)
I am concerned that it would promote D.
I know Tex takes it for his arthritis and swears by it...How about the rest of us?

I am one of those who react quickly to foods or any additives. I get worse fast and I get better fast. Flaxseed oil doesn't make a difference but I notice it has a possitive effect (or it might be the fish oil) on inflammation in other parts of my body.
Apples give me trouble it seems instantly. Still recovering from a trial a apples a few days ago.

Leah,
I don't care for many of the fish oil I tried but I am OK with the one by Schiff called Mega Red. It's krill oil and it's a tiny pill (one a day) instead of the huge pills that you have to take 2 or 3 a day.
Nsaidcolitis,
Do you peel your apples? I do mine otherwise it is just way too much fiber for me...

I used to use carlson fish oil but now I use nordic fish oil and i think it contains funny ingredients in its vitamin E and this is why my symptoms may be better than with carlson but I know for sure fish oil or flaxseed oil is helping with inflammation in other parts of my body.

I didnt peel my apples...that may be the reason or also I may be having them in excess too.

Hi Cathy,
I just take a 1,200 mcg capsule every morning. I don't add it to food. Some members add it to smoothies though, or similar drinks.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Monique,
A had a swift reaction to a Schiff Mega Red sample I took once. I seem to be reacting more subtly to astaxanthin softgels I bought, so I decided to go old-school and bought Carlson lemon-flavored cod liver oil in liquid form. The taste is not bad, and no reactions. I have flax seed oil too, but can't get used to the flavor. I plan to increase my dose of both (I barely remember each day), to see what high doses of Omega-3s will do to my skin. Hopefully less dryness? However, I have to be careful because I already bruise easily, especially on prednisone, and these oils thin the blood more.
