Success!!! finally!!! thanks to all of your words of wisdom
Well to all of you who listened to me and encouraged me to stop the yogurt and realize this could also be a mast cell issue, well it's been 2 weeks and I am finally better!! YIPPEE!!!! After stopping the yogurt my stool went from yellow to normal dark brown. I stopped all cashews as well since high in histamine. I have been living off chicken beef bison and green beans with amazing success - no more "D" but have lost weight. I am very very skinny and my dietician wants me to start vivonex by nestle to put weight on. This dietician is one that specializes in food intolerances, histamine issues etc. and believes as well as all of us that this is a mast cell issue/histamine. I am now on 4th week of ketotifen and new diet and feel darn good. Still have edema of lower legs and ankles every night (have no idea why ? any thoughts?) I have been able to tolerate jasmine rice as it has the lowest fermentability in the lower gut. no issues whatsoever but now my candida is coming back. Should I stop it?? it is sooo nice to have some new food. Also added in salmon with no issues frozen from fresh for low histamine. I am starting zantac and zyrtec in a week so maybe then I can add foods in. I am excited as went out for supper for the first time in over a year had salmon and no issues but 4 hours later I was very very bloated but woke up fine and still haven't gone to the bathroom all day!!! Trying to find a recipe for snacks to take on the road but can't due to my nut allregies and coconut flour seems to bother my stomach horribly.
I have read Tex's book and can't thank him enough for putting it all together for me. Remember 2 weeks ago my 3rd GI specialist put me on Elavil and I had D and mood issues big time - well it turns out that Elavil is the one anti depressant that release histamine big time. Also someone advised me that those with mast cell/histamine issues will be skinny as it raises their metabolism and new research was released to those monitoring those with anorexia as it could be a mast cell issue. who knew!
Anyways, wanted to share my good news - I am still starving and yes already getting sick of the same food but sooo nice to feel good again and be able to go out just like you all advised.
Thanks again!

thanks Nancy ! I am thinking of eating it once every 3 days to see if the yeast infection will keep away. Darn thing is so difficult to eradicate even though I don't touch sugar or fruit. The maple syrup in yogurt 3 x day plus bananas everday are what put me over the candida edge LOL - also such high histamine foods no wonder I was at a standstill

Hi Babs,
It's certainly good to see that you are finally doing so much better. Feeling good feels good, doesn't it.
Thank you for the update, and I hope that you continue to make progress.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Leah, I'm dying to try Diflucan for my rash, just to see what happens. Maybe I'll ask my old boss, my gynecolist, for a script, even though I don't suffer from yeast infections.

Babs, it is good to hear from you and know that your changes are working. Congrats for sticking to it--we all know it isn't easy.
FWIW it's still a challenge after 2+ years to figure out what to take on the road.
Best wishes for continued success.

I'm surprised you could eat peanut butter if you have nut allergies.Trying to find a recipe for snacks to take on the road but can't due to my nut allergies and coconut flour seems to bother my stomach horribly

Thanks Carol!!!! Peanuts are considered an legume which is why I don't react to them. weird eh? can't have cashews though even though skin prick test says okay.

Babs, frankly that is weird. I knew peanuts were a legume yet everyone I know that has nut allergies has to avoid peanuts as well. You are the lucky one.
Wishing you continued success.
