Coming down with a stomach bug today.

Post by Nettierud »

My husband just got over it- one day of vomiting and fever followed by 4 days of explosive D and my kids had it before him. I'm so dreading this, I have had a very nice three months of remission but today I am queasy with chills. Any tips for preventing or lessening a flare up? I'm guessing with the virus I wouldn't want to take anti-diarrhea meds so that I can't expel the bug faster.....how about fasting- is that good?

Rest and keep hydrated. Sip herbal tea, too.

Hi Nettie,

I'm sorry to hear that you've caught it too. I believe that Zizzle recommended this remedy a while back:

Hydrogen Peroxide for Colds and Flu

Linda, I agree that Mountain Rose herbs is a fantastic place to get all sorts of allergen safe teas, extracts, etc. I am fortunate to live in Eugene, OR where they are located, and can even pick up my orders at their facility....... not a store, but can order in advance and pick up there.

Interesting stuff about the hydrogen peroxide, I'm going to try that next time.
Happy to report that I'm feeling better. I had some herbal tea with ginger at Linda's recommendation and after a night with fever and chills I woke up feeling much better and no D so far. I'm going to eat bland for a few days and hopefully seal the deal.
