Help. Please!
Always with my MC, I have soft stool. NEVER explosive D.
I was in Aruba for my honeymoon a week+ ago. While there I started to get explosive D 1x per day. It continued when I was home as well. 1x per day (usually in the morning when I have my regular soft stool. However, Sunday the D wouldn't stop. I had a fever of 102 and constant D (no stomach pain though). I didn't eat anything just drank fluids. But with in minutes I was rushing to the bathroom with D. It was literally like a colonoscopy prep (just shooting right out-sorry!)
It is not brown it is yellow. Just yellow liquid. Last night I got up to go and I felt very dizzy and I ended up passing out on the bathroom floor. Hit my head and my hip.
My Husband took me into ER care this morning. They took blood, stool sample (nurse thought it was urine when she looked at it after I quickly corrected her- Nope! that's def my stool!) They also put in an IV and gave me fluids. The Dr came in and gave me some of my blood results, Potassium was very low and they gave me pills right away. My WBC was low, around 2.8 and My Billirubin was high, 2.5.
He thinks I have a bacterial infection (even though he is still waiting on stool results) and put me on Flagyl and Cipro.
What do you guys think?
I have been resting all day, I took 1 round of pills and they gave me a stomach ache and I am still having constant yellow waterhose stool.
He also told me to contact my GI re my Billirubin.
I don't know what to do or think.
Please Help :/

Congrats on your marriage :)
You poor thing! it does sound like you picked up some kind of bacteria or parasite. Yikes! They should have the test results back soon so you know for sure.
I'm sorry that I don't have anything to suggest, but I do hope you get to the bottom of this soon.
Really soon. Hang in there Sweetie

Well that stinks....on the heels of a honeymoon! I was ok when I went the the islands, but both times I went to Mexico I picked up something and was miserable with D. No more trips to Mexico for me!! Hope you are back on your feet soon and congrats!

Everything will be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end.
Hi Jenny,
Congratulations on your marriage, but I'm sorry to hear that this spoiled your honeymoon. If pain were present, I would suspect bile ducts blocked with gallstones, or a bacterial infection. A virus is a possibility. The fever also suggests a virus or bacterial infection.
But your low WBC and elevated bilirubin (and light-headedness) suggest the possibility of pernicious anemia, especially if the increased bilirubin is mostly unconjugated bilirubin. Did they check your vitamin B-12 and/or folate levels? At least B-12 would be low with pernicious anemia, but if folate is low, that could be the cause of low B-12.
I hope your doctors don't drop the ball, and they will be able to pinpoint the cause of the problem quickly. If you still have WD tomorrow (without noticeable improvement), a bacterial infection seems less likely.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
