Can't catch a break

Post by Lesley »

On Saturday there was a party here at the complex, and for some unknown reason I decided to put on make up for the first time in about 2 years. I had been having some headaches for a few days. It didn't occur to me that it could be allergies, (I am so slow. Takes me forever to twig something totally obvious!) until my eyes started itching and burning, and my head was bursting. I took a Claritin, which helped a bit, and, although I didn't feel great, I forgot about it given some more serious problems that were claiming my attention.

At about 3 in the am I woke up SO stuffed up with phlegm I could not breathe nor swallow. My Claritin are sub lingual, so I didn't have to swallow, and I have a nasal spray, which I used. Both helped to some extent, but my eyes feel AWFUL! I am not as stuffed up right now, but it's early yet
The weather here is strange to say the least. Hot, dry, and uncomfortable. The Santa Annas are apparent. Even Licorice is sneezing.
I have NEVER had an allergy attack like this.

And C is having a grand old time with me. I am such a mess!

Hi Lesley,
If that happens again and you have any Benadryl this will help your allergy symptoms as well. Like you, even though I am C prominent, if I get hit with allergies like during hay fever season, D or close to it can be the result.
I'm sorry for the bump in the road.

take care,
Carol :bigbighug:

Carol, I take Claritin or Zyrtec for the allergies. Benadryl makes me sick. I have NEVER had an attack so severe.

The D is part of my usual cycle. I had to take the usual to get it moving. And when it does it comes as D. I have never had N.

Thanks!

I have been feeling like I am a mess too this past week. I like your spirit Lesley... You keep plugging right along. I get so much hope from all you folks.

Leslie, I remember those Santa Anna winds! My allergies always were worse when they blew. I think that devil wind brings in pollen form all over and it magnifies our allergies.
Sending my hug late as I am late to THIS party, but here it comes....*hug*....

Jean - I posted elsewhere how I was conditioned to keep plugging from the age of 3. Can't help it.

Sunny - we have had really peculiar weather here for the past 10 days. No wind to speak of here, but attributable nonetheless to the Santa Annas.
Hugs back!

Jon, C for a few days, sometimes more, then D is my usual cycle. It scares me.
The allergies were a bonus. That was the worst allergy attack I have had that I can remember. It's not altogether gone, but it;s SO much better I feel like it's negligible.
The weather, as I sad, was weird. Today it rained, and the air is clearer.
