Only an MCer would.....

Post by DebE13 »

My father in law passed away early this week and my husband and I are facilitating a majority of the arrangements and planning for his mom. Stressful and tiring. I'm still working partial days at work because this is the busiest time of season and we are short staffed. I've been expecting some sort of set back but to my surprise I had floaty puffy poops today. Not that that is a great thing, but watery D has been my norm. I found myself admiring it in the bowl. Only an MCer could understand that. Eventually I realized most people would just flush

It seems all the recent events in my life have precipitated a lessened appetite so it's been easy to eat the same thing everyday. I've always struggled with feeling cheated at meal time. Maybe the burger/Udi's, burger/veggie, burger/rice plan is slowly showing some progress. I've had cashews and some PB (natural, of course) but I knew those were things I should omit. I don't eat much of those but was wondering I'd they were holding me up.

Good news again. Tomorrow may be a different story but for today, it's a good poop day.

Hi Deb,

I am sorry to hear about your father in law. It is a hard to lose a loved one.

It is nice that you are having pleasant poops during the crisis.

Yay, a good poop day is something usually worth celebrating.

I'm sorry about your FIL. Hope the planning goes as smooth as it can and that your stress levels remain low.

Deb,

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father-in-law, but you're quite correct — a "good poop" day is definitely a good day.

Thank for your thoughts. He was sick for years so he is at peace now. I couldn't help but share, I was full of smiles. It was either post my excitement here or take a picture to show my husband later. Someone needed to know!

I'm thinking face book would be a poor place to share my news. That probably wasn't the intent of a status update.

Who but an MC'er would actually stand and admire?
Mind you, we lived in Germany for a few months many years ago. German toilets are peculiar. They have a ledge where your output rests before being flushed. Very odd! Maybe all Germans like to admire theirs as we admire ours?

Sorry about your FIL. You say he is at peace after a long illness, but it's always a wrench to lose a loved one.

Sorry to hear of your Father in laws death but happy for your great production number. Our oldest daughter, now aged 49, wanted me to save her first successful poo in the potty chair wanted me to save it for Daddy. She was soooo proud of herself. And Daddy came home, saw her gift, and danced around the bathroom with her hi his arms, cheering her poop! It seems fitting to share this with you, Deb, with a big smile!

Leslie, I had to google it. Interesting. Never thought much of the splash factor. It did also mention the use for "inspection" so it's not limited to just us MCers.

Sunny, that it's a great story and a great Dad!

Good poops are taken for granted unless you can no longer achieve them or are new to making them.

So sorry about your father in law and the stress of making final arrangements. I totally understand poop admiration. MC's are forced to examine poop with way others examine flowers or jewels. Fluffy poop is certainly a step up.

Sunny, I love your story and your husband is a great Dad.

Deb, it is definitely something to celebrate when you are going through a stressful event and your gut hangs together. That shows that healing is occurring and functioning is better-- and that's the goal.

I'm sorry for your loss. Wishing you peace.

Thanks everyone. Funeral went well and it was good to see everyone. Sat through the luncheon with no plate. Felt a bit weird but not worth the risk. I did find it humorous that I couldn't find even one thing that would be ok. Most people do a quick scan of the buffet to see what will fit on their plate. We do a scan of the buffet to go through the checklist of the minefield we may choose to embark upon.

Carrots, cauliflower, broccoli: too hard
Dip: dairy and soy
Pickles: tempting
Mashed potatoes: what's hiding in them? Butter, soy?
Stuffing and gravy: hahaha
Green beans: tempting but what's in the water?
Chicken: can't do chicken, yuk
Ham: tempting but I know better
Assortment of breads and butter: yeah, right.
Milk or chocolate milk: dairy
Cake: mmmm, I miss cake
Water: fill 'er up
Coffee: half cup, not too bad but better with my chocolate almond milk (at home)

The pork chop in the purse is a splendid idea. will need to start carrying a purse or get deeper pockets.

Thanks for teaching me so well potty people!! Not fun at all to be odd man out but I am sitting here right now without a belly ache and hopes of continued fluffy poops! One slow step at a time. Family and friends went out to the bar afterwards and I snuck home for a late safe lunch and a little quiet time. I'm ok with that.
