4 years on...
Well, once again December is life changing month in life of Gabes
This week is the milestone of 4 years with diagnosed mc
Dec 2007 weird eye issues, fatigue, adrenal issues, joint pain, chronic ibs symptoms...unknown cause
Dec 2009 mc diagnosis
Dec 2010. Job change and relocation from capital city to regional town
Dec 2012. job change to reduce stress to help manage unknown cause renal impairment, 2 x moler removal with no painkillers
Dec 2013. Made redundant - (my third time in 11 years)
I have made the decision of giving up my independence per say, moving back to where I grew up (different state, 10hrs drive from here ) and accept the support of family.
I have not lived in that area for about 20 years, and have not had close contact with siblings for 8 years or more, so this next chapter, is a blank canvas... (Or maybe it will be like the griswalds Xmas????)
My mc journey, the awareness and enlightenment of mindfulness and acceptance of what is, that has enhanced my life, I am reasonably at peace with the next chapter...
(And maybe I am a bit tired and happy to go the path of least resistance)
I finish up at work late January, and will move in Feb,
It will be my 7th move in 7 years!!! -( any wonder I am a bit tired!)
Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays ( or what ever culture correct wording applies) to all.
Hope your week is filled with peace and joy, mc safe meals, and time to relax and nurture.
Ps there is a bit of a heat wave here, any donations of north hemisphere snow will be greatly appreciated xo

Gabe,
Thinking of you and how much hope you have given me since I joined the group a couple of months ago. My daughter drove down and picked me up (3.5 hrs ) away because I seem really weak and am fighting nausea most of the day. It used to be just early morning. Weight is going down. Seeing a neuropath today and I have my annual appt with my internist on 1/2. Hoping to get a plan, but I do know having my daughter come and get me and get involved in this with me is a relief. I don't feel so alone. So, good luck with rekindling the relationships with your siblings. Keep us posted.

Everything will be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end.
First, I think you for the history. When I see you or Tex or others doing so well, I don't realize you've been navigating this disease much longer than I. :)
Second, wow, you've weathered, and triumphed, through a lot. I hope you and your family can find a harmonious and mutually supportive relationship, and I hope the move and all it entails and all that follows will be a blessing!

Hi Gabes,
Our journey is a difficult one and no one should be doing it alone (although I am with no family either, just friends who have become my family). I totally understand your decision and I applaud your attempt at rapprochement with your family. Maybe this is the last time you'll move. Maybe you'll be more at peace.
Wishing you the best. You're a trooper, we all know you'll be fine.
Love,
Monique

Hi Gabes,
I wish you much joy and love on this new venture. I do believe that you can go home again....and home is a changing entity through the years. As much as you have changed and grown, so have your family members. Happy and healthy days ahead.
I thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience, on a road we are traveling together.

Dear Gabes,
I'm sorry that your job was one of the jobs the company cut.
I hope that this move back to your roots will ultimately be a good one for you, and bring you new joy in life. Reconnecting with family can be challenging or fun, depending on everyone's expectations. May your journey be good!
Thank you for all the wisdom and encouragement you bring to this forum.
Love,
Martha

There isn't much I can add, Gabes. I'm so sorry for the upheaval in your life, another move, another job, etc. This situation could turn out to be the best thing to happen to you. For me, tragedy changed my life in ways I couldn't have imagined. Your life is evolving and hopefully getting better and more interesting. Please keep your PP friends informed. We are all rooting for you.

Gabes,
More upheaval. Sigh. But all for the right reasons IMO.
Go back to your family! I am so happy for you! That is what they are there for. They will love to have you back. There is a grand plan for you and it appears to involve your being back with your family so look at this as a gift. I really think it is and it is something I have been contemplating this last week too. Take the time to regain your physical health, you already have an excellent state of mind, dear.
You will see the better things are in store for you, Gabes.

Gabes,
Your plans sound great! It will be exciting to see how this next chapter in your reveals itself.
You have such a giving heart, I'm sure your family will benefit greatly to have you once again in their midst, as will you, surrounded by their love and support.
My Christmas wish for you:
May you be safe and protected, and peaceful and happy.

Many of us here have been dealing with digestive issues for a very long time. Patience is absolutely key for without it the motivation to stay on a restrictive diet tends to disappear. Gabes is most definitely one of those people who exemplify the importance of patience in learning how to deal with the disease. Patience, acceptance, reducing stress, all are as essential as dietary change in my opinion. You can't go wrong following Gabes' example, or Tex's or many of the other long term members here.
